The Menarche Diaries

The Menarche Diaries:
The Records of our First Period Experiences

No matter how you feel about menstruation, our first periods mark an event that none of us will ever forget. And yet, we NEVER talk about it. So when it comes time for mothers to talk about it with their daughters: they don't really know where to start. They don't know what has worked, what hasn't. Even among this very open group of women there is a lot of hesitancy with the subject. But if we never talk about it we will never be able to learn from past mistakes or victories to help change the way the next generation has to navigate a first period which currently, for the most part, is alone.

With all of that said we think its high time to shed some light on how girls are experiencing their first periods. I need you for that: Send me an e-mail with your first period story.

VulvaLoveLovely@Gmail.com
We will be posting them in a blog series called the menarche diaries, your name can be changed, excluded, whatever you want. Just say so in the e-mail. Please include your age and country.

I know its something we don't like to talk about, but why let that social construct continue to stand when it comes to such a tangible experience that all women in the past, now, and after you will go through?
